Thom Hickey bloggt über das WorldCat Wiki (netbib und Wikipedia über WorldCat), das er zusammen mit der Forschungsabteilung des OCLC plant:

The idea is to have a Wiki that complements WorldCat. People could add reviews, cover art, comments, etc. and relate these to bibliographic records (…). We hope the system is flexible enough so that people do (good) things we’re not expecting. We’d like the Wiki to be available anywhere WorldCat records are.

Basieren soll das System auf der Software MetaWiki, die Thom Hickey in einem früheren Beitrag seines Weblogs beschrieben hatte:

A MetaWiki looks like a wiki on the surface, but it (…) gives you fielded data for keeping track of things such as metadata (hence the name MetaWiki).

Klingt in meinen Ohren sehr interessant. Zu hoffen bleibt, daÃ? alle Lese- und Schreib-Zugriff auf dieses Wiki haben werden, nicht nur angemeldete Nutzer der OCLC-Mitgliedsbibliotheken…
